Ugly scenes at Parkhead as angry fans clash with police after Celtic loss

Videos have emerged on Sunday evening purported to show angry Celtic fans outside Parkhead, some of whom clash with City of Glasgow police.

The footage appears to show fans looking to make their displeasure clear at the club's hierarchy after their 2-0 loss at home to Ross County.

Celtic protests

Fan frustration has been building as the season has progressed, with Celtic currently 11 points Rangers at the top of the SPFL.

The defeat to Ross County in Sunday's Scottish League Cup match has led to scenes outside Parkhead that do not reflect well on harmony in the club.

Police had erected fencing and a circle of vans around the club to provide security amid grim scenes.

One man is seen to throw a fence at a police van, in an atmosphere of great anger.

Neil Lennon

Speaking to Premier Sports after Sunday's loss Lennon was frustrated at not just losing the game but also in the familiar manner in which they did.

"A penalty and a set play, it's been the story of our season really. I think that's the seventh penalty that we've conceded.

"The second goal was really poor, it's not even a good delivery - we didn't get first contact and don't get second contact.

"We've gone over it so many times and we're still making the same mistakes. In the final third we had chances, we had total domination of the game.

"We've been in that situation a lot of times but we're not finding the answers at the minute. Our final ball at times today was poor and we lacked that cutting edge."
