Ben Woodburn became the youngest scorer in Liverpool history as they saw off Leeds United to qualify for the semi-finals of the EFL Cup at Anfield.
The 17-year-old only signed his first professional contract at the start of the month, but has begun making an immediate impact.
He had mad a late substitute appearance in Saturday's 2-0 win over Sunderland and got an immediate chance to build on that with midweek League Cup action.
The Welsh under-19 international sealed the 2-0 win in the 81st minute against Leeds after Divock Origi opened the scoring five minutes earlier.
In doing so, Woodburn became Liverpool's youngest ever scorer, beating Michael Owen's previous mark by 99 days.
Liverpool will be joined in the semi-finals by Hull who defeated Newcastle on penalties after they finished 1-1 after extra-time.
Hull had to overcome the setback of a red card for striker Dieumerci Mbokani on 89 minutes for lashing out at Magpies defender Jamaal Lascelles and fell behind to a Mohamed Diame goal on 98 minutes.
But just one minute later, Robert Snodgrass levelled for the Tigers.
Newcastle then missed three penalties as the home side won 3-1 in the shootout.
