Austria's Eurovision win has given Liverpool fans a strange omen for hope today...

It’s the hope that kills the suffering football fan, but for Liverpool fans here’s an omen to keep the fading flame of disbelief alive for a few hours.

Courtesy of BT Sport French football journalist Julien Laurens we bring you an obscure stat that brings together the title races in England and Spain, the Madrid derby Champions League final and the Eurovision...

As you’ll probably have heard, Conchita Wurst won last night’s Eurovision for Austria, their first since 1966. Atletico Madrid are 3 points clear at the top of La Liga, leading Barcelona with just 2 games left. Real Madrid will meet their next door neighbours in the Champions League final on May 24, and England, well they’re going to Brazil.

As it happens, Manchester City are 1/60 to win the Premier League title today.
