Arsenal are through to the FA Cup quarter finals after a 2-0 win over non league Sutton.
The Gunners went into the game on the plastic pitch as heavy favourites given the huge gulf between the sides and an under pressure Arsene Wenger saw his team manage the minimum of winning the match.
Coming off the back of a desperately diasppointing 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Arsenal took 26 minutes to score their opening goal.
Lucas Perez, whose future was under much scrutinty, got the goal when he cut in from the right and flashed a cross into the box.
No one got a touch on it but the ball still found the net.
Arsenal's second came via Theo Walcott 10 minutes after half time as he applied a finish.
Sutton gave a good account themselves and hit the crossbar through Roarie Deacon, who started out at Arsenal as a youth player between 2008 and 2011.
Arsenal now face non league opposition for a place in the semi finals of the FA Cup. Next up in the quarter finals are Lincoln City, who defeated Burnley on Saturday to become the first team from outside the Football League to qualify for the last eight of the FA Cup for more than a century.
