Arsene Wenger's contract as Arsenal manager ends at the end of this season, and it looks like the Arsenal hierarchy are already looking to the future.
Wenger has been in charge of the club since 1996 and has been the most successful manager in the club's history. Under the Frenchman's watch the team have won three Premier Leagues and six FA Cups.
According to The Sun, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is being seriously considered to replace Wenger next season. Bournemouth were only promoted to the Premier League last season, and Howe was openly considered to become the new England manager, following Roy Hodgson's resignation following Euro 2016.
Wenger could still remain as Arsenal manager, should he want to extend his reign even further. Howe's name has been mentioned as a successor who could be moulded in a way Arsenal want.
Howe's playing career was cut short, and retired aged 30. He immediately went into coaching at Bournemouth in 2007, before he was eventually named caretaker-manager the December of the following year. In 2009 he was given the job on a permanent basis.
Bournemouth return to Premier League action this weekend, looking for their league win of the season, at home to West Brom. Arsenal play Southampton on Saturday.
