A matter of hours after relieving Maurizio Sarri of his position as manager, Juventus are reportedly set to appoint Italian World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo as manager.
In the immediate aftermath of Juventus' Champions League exit to Lyon on Friday night, Maurizio Sarri's tenure as manager came to an end.
Despite claiming the Serie A title in his first season with the club, it now appears that Juventus will be going in a new direction.
According to Italian journalists, Andrea Pirlo, a World Cup winner with Italy and former Champions League finalist with Juventus, is set to replace Sarri in Turin.
The decision comes shortly after Pirlo was named manager of the club's U23 side.

Throughout a stellar playing career, Pirlo spent four seasons with Juventus where he won as many league titles and journeyed with the club to the 2015 Champions League final.
Defeated in the Berlin final by Lionel Messi's Barcelona, the Italian has nevertheless won the competition on two earlier occasions with AC Milan.
A World Cup winner with Italy in 2006, this will be Andrea Pirlo's first role in football management at a senior level. After returning to Turin to take over the club's second side late last month, Sarri's exit has opened the door for Pirlo to ascend into the top job.
