The Europa League featured some exciting games last night, as Dundalk came close to giving Zenit St. Petersburg a shock at home, and Manchester United were handed another defeat by Fenerbahce.
When it comes to goals however, the game between Athletic Bilbao and Genk will take some beating as the teams found the back of the net eight times.
Bilbao came out on the right side of a 5-3 result, but there were some worrying moments as the Belgian side kept hitting back to remain within touching distance until the closing stages of the game.
While Ernesto Valverde won't be happy with the defending on display on Thursday night, he can't really complain about the performance of his forward, Artiz Aduriz, who became the first man in Europa League history to score five goals in one game.
Two came from the penalty spot, including a late, late strike in injury time to give los leones a bit of extra breathing space, but he also scored a hat-trick from open play, including putting his body on the line to find the back of the net early on, crashing into the post in the process.
The five goals also gave the 35-year-old striker another record, as he overtook Fernando Llorente as the club's leading European goalscorer, with 15.
