'By no means have we planned to kick the ball as much as we did'

With a perfect November under their belts - at least in terms of results - Ireland can look ahead to defending the Six Nations and trying to break the World Cup quarter-final barrier in 2015.

In the wake of Saturday's win in a row, we were joined by Ireland No 10 Jonny Sexton on Off The Ball to look back on the Autumn achievement and what the team will be trying to work on over the next few months.

Listen to the full interview via the podcast:

Sexton insists that Ireland also place emphasis on playing with the ball in hand.

"We lost a couple of lineouts where we had planned to play some really nice moves that we had worked on and play a couple of wide-wide patterns that we had worked on," he said.

"We know we're not a million miles from what we planned to do, but by no means have we planned to kick the ball as much as we did. But under the circumstances, I think a lot of the decisions we made were probably right."

But with the 2006 clean sweep in mind, the Racing Metro player - who returns to Leinster next season - feels that the team must not lose the run of themselves amid great expectations.

"We've nothing to show for it. We've come off the back of three wins. It's not like we pick up a trophy. At the end of the Six Nations, you have something to celebrate so hopefully come Six Nations time we will have something to celebrate but at the moment these matches are one off games."
