Ryan Manning extends QPR contract until 2021

Queens Park Rangers have extended Ryan Manning's contract, with the new deal keeping the Galway man at Loftus Road until the end of the 2021 season.

Manning, who is capped by the Republic of Ireland up to under-21 level, has made 82 appearances in all competitions and scored five goals since joining the Championship club as an 18-year-old.

He was called up by Ireland boss Mick McCarthy last November but is yet to be capped at senior level.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season as a left wing-back under Mark Warburton, playing 31 times for The Rs this campaign and he's joined winger Bright Osayi-Samuel in having the club activate a clause to extend their deals.

“Exercising the option to extend the deals of Ryan and Bright is recognition of how well they have done for us over the past three years," QPR's director of football Les Ferdinand confirmed this evening.

“They have both worked incredibly hard to become important members of Mark Warburton’s squad, and as such, they are valuable assets to QPR.

“When you are signing young players the contracts need to be long enough to protect the club while not too long that they can potentially take away their incentive to progress.

“The extra one-year option which we have triggered gives us that ability to do both.

“We will be continuing discussions with Ryan and Bright as we look to extend their deals further.”
