Stephen Larkham claims the Munster coach staff all want to extend their stays with the province.
The contract of head coach Johan van Graan expires at the end of this season, and there's speculation regarding his future given his failure so far to bring silverware to Thomond Park.
Larkham joined the Munster coaching staff on a three-year deal in the summer of 2019, and his deal is another that runs out at the end of the current campaign.
Van Graan was playing it cool recently when asked about potentially extending his contract with the province.
"I’m not going to speculate over the media about my contract," the South African said last week.
"Obviously, I’m in the last season of my contract and full focus on the season ahead and we have got a game ahead. I’m really enjoying my time at Munster, really enjoying the club and am just focused on the week ahead.
"When the time is right for contract talks, that will take place in the background."
But speaking ahead of this week's United Rugby Championship game with the DHL Stormers, Larkham went one further than his boss.
Asked if he wanted to extend his deal with Munster, the Senior Coach replied, "Of course, we all do [want to stay], it's a great environment here at the moment.
“We certainly feel as though things are building in the right direction, we had a really good year last year and we want that to continue, we have a really good cohesion as a coaching group at the moment, we're really enjoying it.
“From a playing perspective, it's our third year together as a larger group so the environment's great at the moment.”
Munster received some positive injury news on Tuesday.
Promising back-row forward John Hodnett has resumed full training, ten months after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon.
