The IRFU (Irish Rugby Football Union) has confirmed that the PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) testing of players and staff at Leinster and Ulster has produced zero positive results.

The union tested 156 players and staff across the two provinces this week, with none of them returning positive for COVID-19.

The IRFU match officials involved in the weekend’s fixtures have also produced zero positive results.

The staff and players from Leinster and Ulster and the match officials have been cleared to participate in this weekend’s Guinness PRO14 Final. Players and staff are currently tested each match week.

To date there have been 1628 tests conducted across the IRFU professional player and staff group and 9 positive tests reported from the academy system.

While some of these positive results came from Ulster's academy, they were isolated from the senior team, and have had no impact on the side's previous two matches.

Both Leinster and Ulster will be taking part in the Champions Cup quarter-finals next week. They will go head to head in the PRO 14 final on Saturday.

Kickoff is at 7:35pm in an empty Aviva Stadium.
