Tight 5 | Leinster's attacking genius | Robbie Henshaw's influence

OTB Sport's own rugby analyst, Neil Treacy is back with a tactical analysis of Leinster's clinical victory over Munster in the PRO 14 final. Here are Neil's big takeaways from the game.

He highlighted Leinster's use of Robbie Henshaw as the first receiver of the ball following set-pieces. This forced Joey Carbery and Damien de Allende of Munster to push forward toward Henshaw in an attempt to pressure him.

Henshaw's ability to pop the ball quickly out to Ross Byrne and others allowed Leinster to get on the front foot and create overloads out wide that they exploited.

Leinster were masterful at drawing Munster's players towards the ball, according to Treacy.

The variety of attacking options that Leinster possess repeatedly forced the Munster players to second guess themselves, and they became flat-footed while defending as a result.

This led to a multitude of gaps appearing in the Munster defensive line which Leinster were only too happy to drive toward and create chances to attack.

Treacy also examined how Leinster's loosehead props were able to force John Ryan and Stephen Archer into some costly penalties in the second half. These mistakes would prove costly for Johann van Graan's men in the end.

You can watch Neil Treacy's full analysis of Leinster vs. Munster on this week's edition of the Tight 5 above.
