It has this afternoon been confirmed that Paul O'Connell will be vacating his coaching position with Stade Francais at the end of the current season.
Joining the French Top 14 club in August 2018, the former Munster man is set to depart Stade Francais on Sunday, June 30, 2019.
In a short statement released on the French club's website, O'Connell announced his intention to depart; somewhat stifling rumours that he is set for an immediate move to their French rivals, Toulon.
"I have decided not to stay beyond my contract year with the club and do not plan to join another club next season either," O'Connell's statement read.
"I had a great adventure at the Stade Français Paris. I am grateful to the club for the opportunity they gave me to live and work in Paris.
"I was delighted to be able to work alongside Heyneke Meyer, the staff and all the club's players.
"Finally, I am looking forward to the end of the season and I hope to be able to help the club during the eventual finals of the Top 14."
Preceding the closing remarks from Paul O'Connell, the French club expressed their gratitude to the Irish coach: "Paul O'Connell is and will always be considered a member of the Stade Francais Paris family.
