"There are other options" - Ronan O'Gara on his coaching future

Ronan O’Gara has denied reports that he has already signed a contract with French side La Rochelle but said there are several offers on the table and that he wants his next coaching role to be as a head coach.

Speaking to Off The Ball this evening, O'Gara said that "nothing is done yet" but that a decision over his coaching future will be made within the next two weeks.

O’Gara has been the backs coach with New Zealand side Crusaders since January 2018, and said that he may decide to stay with Crusaders for another year.

"I’ve got to weigh up a few options. There's some really tough decisions to make. So hopefully in the next 10 or 14 days there will be a decision. But nothing is done yet."

"There are other options. There are two or three other options. It's a great position to be in."

"There is a sporting decision to make and a family decision to make. And, I could stay with the Crusaders for another season."

O'Gara also said that he was considering offers back home in Ireland but that he would not be signing with Munster.

"I have spoken to Munster but there is no serious conversation in terms of a coaching position because I don't want to go down that route right now."

"If I am good enough I can get a job at home on my terms."

O'Gara said that his next coaching role if he does not stay with Crusaders will likely be as a head coach in either New Zealand or France.

"Crusaders have been very good and they have been very patient and I genuinely can't make up my mind and I think they understand that."
