Off The Ball preview Leinster v Glasgow

On Saturday, Leinster welcome Glasgow Warriors to the RDS for the final of the RaboDirect Pro 12.

The match has extra special significance as Brian O'Driscoll lines out for Leinster for the final time.

To preview the clash, we were joined by Trevor Hogan and Gerry Thornley.

Gerry is under no illusion of the task awaiting Leinster on Saturday evening.

"One would imagine that they would want to beat Leinster in a final more than any other team. It's going to be a goal for them having lost the last two semi-finals narrowly at the RDS," said Gerry, who also acknowledged the work of Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend.

"They're certainly the most improved side in the Rabo Pro 12 over the last four seasons. He inherited a good base and he's taken it on further."

Comparing Leinster to Matt O'Connor's previous Leicester side, Gerry cited defence as the area the province has really improved on.

"Glasgow are a really threatening side and really punished Munster at the ruck, with a lot of dangerous pick and goes. Leinster will have to be more clinical in attack," warned Trevor.

He also added that he cannot see semi-final try hero Ian Madigan getting a starting spot at either 10 or 12 and Gerry expects Jimmy Gopperth at all and a fresh Zane Kirchner to make an impact. He also cited the bench as a key weapon for both sides.

Gerry and Trevor also spoke about James Coughlan's departure from Munster.
