Munster sweating on the fitness of O'Mahony for Toulouse game

Munster captain Peter O'Mahony is a doubt for Saturday's Heineken Champions Cup last 16 clash with Toulouse.

The Ireland international sustained a deep laceration to his thigh during last weekend's defeat to Leinster in the Guinness PRO14 final at the RDS.

Munster head coach Johann van Graan said after the game that O'Mahony was "struggling" and that it "didn’t look good."

The Province issued an injury update on Tuesday morning to say the 31-year-old's availability will be determined later in the week.

There is positive news for Dan Goggin, who has returned to training after recovering from a hand injury sustained against Benetton at the end of January.

Fineen Wycherley will progress his rehab on a neck injury this week and his availability will be decided over the coming days.

Munster will be aiming to bounce back from the disappointment of the defeat to Leinster when they face the French champions at Thomond Park on Saturday.

If Munster can get the better of Toulouse, Johann van Graan's side will have an away quarter-final against either Wasps or Clermont Auvergne the following weekend.
