Former Ireland out-half Ronan O'Gara says Munster should let Craig Casey leave the province if he shows any urge to join Leinster Rugby.
The highly touted scrum-half was subject of an Irish Independant report regarding a potential move to Leinster next season in this morning's newspapers.
Casey is apparently on Leo Cullen's pre-season wish list as the Leinster coach looks to improve his depth in the number 9 position.
Speaking on Tuesday's OTB AM ROG thinks player moves between the provinces hamper a rivalry that Irish rugby needs. He says the it's been diluted in recent years.
"I think the Munster v Leinster rivalry needs to be kept where it was, it's probably diluted over the years. I think it makes our game really, really strong,' added the Munster man.
The Crusader's coach admits that Leinster and Munster's rivalry is huge for the development and future of the Irish game but thinks efforts will be doubled with the provinces recruitment process to acquire the very best talent.
"It's a professional game; a ruthless game. So, if the scouts see an unbelievable prospect they are dead right to chance their arm,' O'Gara told OTB AM.
There U-20 Grand-slam winning player is not one O'Gara is familiar with but the Cork man hopes the player 'wants' to play for the red shirt of Munster.
Ireland's record points scorer and caps holder says Munster should not stand in the players way should he have doubts about playing for club.
"The question you'd have to ask is: 'What jersey does he want to wear?' - You'd hope it means an awful lot to him; you'd hope if he wants to play for Munster but if has indecision about blue or red jersey then Munster may be better off letting him go"
