Leinster are through to the semi-finals of the Heineken Champions Cup after a 12 point victory over Exeter Chiefs on Saturday evening.

Leo Cullen's side ran in three tries as they came from 14-0 down to beat the reigning champions 34-22 at Sandy Park on Saturday evening.

For many sides going 14-0 down to Exeter would spell a disaster but the PRO14 champions fought back and refused to drop the head.

James Lowe and Jordan Larmour went over the line in the first half for Leo Cullen's side with Johnny Sexton and Ross Byrne sending the conversions through the posts.

Byrne also kicked two penalties in the first 40 minutes and the visitors lead 20-14 at the break.

Another Larmour try in the second half and three Byrne penalties saw Leinster lead 34-22 in the last 10 minutes.

They thought they had gotten a fourth try with Rory O'Loughlin going over the line right at the death, but it was disallowed.

Leinster though had done enough and they advance to the semi-finals and they keep their bid for an unprecedented fifth European title alive.

The result marks Exeter's first loss in 11 European games.

Elsewhere today, Ronan O'Gara's La Rochelle beat Sale Sharks 45-21 in France to book their place in the last four.

The semi-final draw will be made tomorrow with many hoping for an O'Gara v Leinster encounter.
