Keith Wood: Munster "need to up their game" to win Pro 12 final

Former Ireland rugby captain Keith Wood believes Munster will need to up their game in order to claim the Guinness Pro 12 final on Saturday.

The Irish province take on Leinster's semi final conquerors Scarlets in the decider at Aviva Stadium.

Victory would be their first major trophy since they won the Pro 12 for the third time in 2011.

Wood feels Munster were not quite at their best in their semi final win over Ospreys last weekend, although overall he has been impressed by their season as well as the work of director of rugby Rassie Erasmus.

"I think he has manoeuvred the team through an incredibly difficult period of time on and off the field and he has done an incredible job so far," said Wood on Off The Ball.

"But for the expectations of everybody and the wishes and wants of that group of players, they'd like to finish out their season with a trophy and not to have it at 'God, we were very close'.

"Munster have the capacity to go and win this game and play better than they played last week. They need their Lions to be the best on the field.

"They need everyone else to back it up to the hilt and they need to have that level of composure and mental maturity that Rassie has been talking about. And they can do that but they need to up their game.

"If they go taking anything for granted, I think we could be in for a horrible Saturday. Let's hope that everybody's fully focused."
