The Ireland Under 20s will play the New Zealand Under 20s in the IRB Junior World Championship third place play off.
Ireland battled well but ultimately lost comprehensively to an England side that eased their way into the final earlier this morning. Tries from Gary Ringrose and Alex Wootton weren't enough to stop Ireland going down going down by 42-15 in North Shore City.
The third place play off will take place on Friday morning Irish time.
In the other semi final, a late Corniel Els try sealed the win for the South Africa Under 20s as they beat hosts New Zealand by 32 points to 25.
The England/ South Africa Final also takes place on Friday morning.
