Ireland confirm Chris Henry suffered a blood vessel blockage

The Irish management team has confirmed that Chris Henry had suffered a temporary blockage of a small blood vessel in his brain.

The Ulster flanker was ruled out of the recent November International against South Africa after complaining of a severe migraine.

Further tests have now revealed the extent of the problem and the player is now resting at home and will need to undergo further tests and a specialist opinion.

Meanwhile, Mike McCarthy reported suffering some concussion after yesterday's win over Georgia and he'll now have to complete the return to play protocols before being considered for this Saturday's clash with Australia.

Centre Jared Payne is continuing his recover from a foot injury while hooker Rory Best is set to train fully this week and will be available for selection.
