In Pictures: Munster see off Leinster at packed Thomond Park

Munster scored four tries as they defeated rivals Leinster 29-17 in front of a packed out Thomond Park.

Tries from Simon Zebo, Ronan O'Mahony, Tommy O'Donnell and CJ Stander gave Munster the win and push them clear of Leo Cullen's side in the Guinness Pro 12 table heading into the New Year.

Munster are now five points clear of second placed Leinster at the top of the standings.

But it was Leinster who got on the scoreboard first.

Zane Kirchner cut through to score the match's opening try after 18 minutes.

Isa Nacewa extended that lead to 7-0 with a conversion.

But Munster fought back with the in form Zebo responding with a try of his own four minutes later.

The Ireland wing spun his body around to get over his tacklers and put the ball down in the corner.

Tyler Bleyendaal converted but Nacewa's 28th minute penalty put Leinster back in front on 10-7.

But from that point on, Munster took charge. O'Mahony's got through in the corner on  40 minutes to give Munster the lead, with Bleyendaal's extras making it 14-10.

Ten minutes later, Tommy O'Donnell made the most of Conor Murray's kick to extend the lead and seven minutes later, Ireland back-row Stander powered over for Munster's fourth try of the contest with the help of the pack.

Leinster fought back in the final stages with Richardt Strauss scoring a late try to reduce the deficit.

But it was too little too late for those in blue as Munster held on for a bonus point win by a 12 point margin.
