Has Gavin Duffy swapped rugby for GAA?

Earlier this month, Connacht confirmed that full-back Gavin Duffy would be leaving the province at the end of the season.

Tonight, we were reliably informed that Duffy was spotted training with the Mayo senior team.

To get to the bottom of this sighting, we were joined by former Mayo star David Brady, who confirmed the news.

"I think [James Horan] has made a master move by bringing in Gavin Duffy, the ex-Irish international rugby player and long-time Connacht player into the Mayo panel. At the age of 32 or 33, I think it's a great move."

Brady found out how Duffy fared in training with a round ball, rather than the oval.

"Someone said to me that he didn't just fit in, he stood out," said Brady, explaining that Duffy had not played GAA since Minor level and the move was likely to have been a boyhood dream.

Brady also believes that Duffy's fitness and experience will reap benefits on the pitch.

"Look at the experience he has and I think it will only add to the Mayo setup."
