Former Ireland and Leicester Tigers full-back Geordan Murphy is the latest player to be inducted into the Rugby Players Ireland Hall of Fame.
Rugby Players Ireland (formerly known as IRUPA) announced that the 39-year-old will become the 17th person to be inducted. He follows the likes of Ronan O'Gara and David Wallace, who were the last two players to be honoured.
The Kildare native spent the whole of his professional career with Leicester Tigers, where he is one of the club's most decorated players. At Leicester, Murphy won numerous titles including eight English Premierships and two Heineken Cups. With Ireland, he was part of the team's 2009 Grand Slam winners.

"It is a great honour and privilege for me to be recognised by the rugby community in Ireland", Murphy said on the announcement of his induction.
"While I have spent the majority of my career abroad, my home has always been very special to me. I always enjoyed returning to Lansdowne Road and lining out alongside many of those who I now join in the Hall of Fame. I will always treasure those memories."
Murphy will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on May 10th at the annual Rugby Players Ireland Awards night.
