There were Guinness PRO 12 wins for Leinster and Munster today.
The southern province got the action started in Italy, where they recorded a routine victory over Zebre. James Cronin announced his return from injury with two tries after his introduction, while Ronan O'Mahony, Tommy O'Donnell, Rory and Niall Scannell, all crossed over to help Munster to a comfortable 50-14 win.
Meanwhile in Dublin, Leinster held on for a one-point win against the Cardiff Blues. An early Dan Leavy try followed by a Ross Byrne conversion appeared to set up a strong platform for Leinster but the Blues responded with a try through Tomos Williams and a conversion from Steven Shingler.
The hosts nudged themselves back in front again, through a Luke McGrath try to put them 14-7 ahead at the break. A second Williams try and Shingler conversion equallised matters again before Ross Byrne reclaimed the lead for Leinster with a penalty.
Cardiff slipped in front through a Sion Bennett try, but just when it looked like Leinster might be beaten in their back yard, second row Ross Molony lunged over to register Leinster's third try of the day.
It took some TMO approval to get the points on the board, but it put them 22-21 in front with time running out. Cardiff came charging back but captain Isa Nacewa made a crucial tackle to see his side hold on for the win, and maintain their spot at the top of the Guinness PRO 12 table.
