The IRFU has announced the appointment of Simon Easterby as Forwards Coach.
Easterby joins the coaching set-up from Welsh Pro12 club Scarlets where he has been the head coach since 2012.
The 65 times capped former Lion will join the Irish set-up at the start of October.
Easterby says it's an exciting time to be involved in Irish rugby and he is looking forward to helping the team continue to be as competitive as possible.

Commenting on the announcement, Joe Schmidt said:
"Simon has tremendous test match experience combined with an in-depth knowledge of the current National Squad players. He is well known to Irish rugby supporters and to many of the players and his knowledge and experience will help drive the team forward."
Simon Easterby added:
"It's an exciting time to be involved in Irish rugby and I am looking forward to helping the team continue to be as competitive as possible.”
