'Our discipline cost us' - Jarrad Butler frustrated by Gloucester loss

Connacht sit bottom of Pool 5 in the Heineken Champions Cup after a disappointing 26-17 loss away to Gloucester today.

Gloucester full-back Tom Marshall scored two tries, while Louis Rees-Zammit and Jake Polledri also went over the line and Danny Cipriani kicked three conversions.

Speaking to Off the Ball at full-time, Connacht's Jarrad Butler was frustrated and felt they should have come away from the tiw with a result.

"It was frustrating, we came in at half-time and were pretty positive, we felt like we'd been on the back foot for the majority of the half.

"We'd spent a lot of time in our 22 but we had scrumbled well, we got some really good turn-overs in crucial parts of the field but saying that you don't want to be scrambling for forty minutes so we knew we had put ourselves in a pretty tough spot.

"In the second half, Gloucester did a really good job of controlling territory.

"We weren't very disciplined, we weren't able to hold onto the ball for long periods of time."

Butler also felt that home advantage played a major role in the game and he's optimistic about the return fixture in Galway next week.

"You just look at the support they had, they had really good support, loud support and I think that made all the difference. There was a couple of 50-50 decisions that could have gone either way.

"I'm looking forward to them coming to the Sportsground and they can be on the other end of it cause we've got pretty good support."
