Leinster's Jack Conan has been called up to the Ireland squad for Sunday's Six Nations clash with France at the Aviva Stadium.
Andy Farrell is set to be without Peter O'Mahony due to the red card he received in the defeat to Wales last Sunday.
A statement from the IRFU also said that "Johnny Sexton and James Ryan will go through the graduated return to play protocols this week."
Both players came off with head injuries in the game against the Welsh but it's still unclear if both will be passed fit for this weekend.
Ryan Baird will train with the squad again this week, while Ed Byrne has also remained with the squad but Gavin Coombes has returned to train with Munster.
Meanwhile, Peter O'Mahony will find out later what punishment he'll face for his red card against Wales.
The Munster captain was sent off in the opening 15 minutes in Cardiff for a dangerous clearout on Tomas Francis in a ruck.
The Six Nations released a statement on Tuesday morning which read: "Peter O’Mahoney was red carded during the Wales v Ireland match last Sunday 7th February 2021 for an infringement of Law 9.20 (a) & (b) - (Dangerous play in a ruck or maul. A player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without binding onto another player in the ruck or maul. A player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders)."
A disciplinary hearing will take place this afternoon by video conference but O'Mahony is set to be unavailable for the visit of the French.
