Ireland loosehead Cian Healy is hoping to return from injury in time for Leinster's Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final with Saracens.

The Leinster prop sustained a hip injury in the first-half of Sunday's 24-12 defeat to England at Twickenham, with confirmation coming on Monday that his Six Nations campaign was over.

No definitive timeframe was placed on Healy's recovery period, but writing on Instagram, Healy's targeting the April 4 clash with the troubled Premiership club.

Healy told his followers, "Big thanks to everyone for their kind messages over the last few days.

"Absolutely gutted with the injury but one thing is for sure, I will come back stronger and better. I'm surrounded by incredible medical teams in both Leinster and Ireland and have every faith in the plan ahead.

"We've set a target to return for the Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final and I will do everything in my power to achieve this!"

"Time to get to work."

While Healy won't be involved going forward, it's believed the Ireland squad will still be gathering despite their Six Nations game with Italy at the Aviva falling victim to fears over the coronavirus.

Several members of Andy Farrell's squad have returned to their provinces ahead of this weekend's Guinness Pro 14 games, but the head coach is keen to keep his panel sharp ahead of the trip to Paris to face France on March 14.

Farrell will host a training camp this week, including an open session at Energia Park in Donnybrook on Friday.
