The BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards took place on Sunday night, as the organisation honoured those who had made a contribution to sport from the local to the global level.
At one stage in proceedings, they took time to remember the sporting stars that had passed away in the last 12 months, looking back on a particularly difficult year in 2016.
Aptly set to the tune of David Bowie's 'Heroes', Munster legend Anthony Foley was remembered as one of those lost in the video tribute, along with a number of other notable stars.

Global stars such as Arnold Palmer were remembered, while other Irish sporting figures who had passed away during the year, from Mark Farren to Christy O'Connor Snr., were part of the touching footage.
Tributes were paid to Foley on Saturday at the RTÉ Sport Ireland Sports Person of the Year awards, with his friends and former team-mates outlining just what an important figure he was in their lives, both on and off the pitch.
