Shane Hannon holds the bragging rights in the Team OTB Towers after he powered to victory in our #RunAndRide4Pieta Duathlon in association with BMW Ireland.
Following six weeks of training alongside experts from Triathlon Ireland, "The Monaghan Machine" completed his 5km run, 20km cycle and 2.5km sprint in just under 78-minutes on this morning's edition of OTB AM.
"There was only going to be one destination," Hannon said after presenting himself with a plastic trophy to mark his victory over his OTB Sports colleagues.
"Look, if my machinery had played ball then the margin of win would have been embarrassing. My chain broke off off my bike during the transition between run and cycle and it took a few minutes to fix it before eventually getting going again.
"It was a little bit of a setback but I knew I'd be a few minutes ahead of the field for the run. I'm quite strong on the runs, (the delay) probably made it a bit more interesting for the neutral at home and it was a little bit more exciting at the finish because of my setback."
OTB AM producer Tommy Rooney felt he was "under-cooked" in his preparations but the Meath man came in second in 79-minutes with Team 33 presenter Enda Coll completing the medal places.
Our racing expert Thom Malone edged out Ger Gilroy to take fourth place with Nathan Murphy and a hamstring injury hampered Adrian Barry bringing up the rear.
