As Manchester United smashed nine past Southampton at home, poor Ralph Hassenhuttl had to reflect on his second 9-0 defeat as Saints manager.
The goals came from - deep breath - Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, a Jan Bednarek own goal, Edinson Cavani, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Daniel James and a brace from Anthony Martial.
The Saints were down to nine men, with the early red for Alexandre Jankewitz an absolute no-brainer. The second for Jan Bednarek seemed soft, as he was adjudged to have fouled Anthony Martial.
Social media reacted to Manchester United equalling a club record performance, matching the scoreline against Ipswich Town in March 1995.

A good day for Jon Walters: Jan Bednerak's total of minus 7 smashes Walters' Fantasy total of minus 4 from a two-own-goals-and-a-missed-penalty performance in 2013.

Why is Jake Humphrey offended the decision took place “hundreds of miles away”?

As a friend just messaged, if there was the right amount of added time then United probably could've got a 10th goal. Three minutes was probably half the time it took Dean to sort out the penalty and there were six subs. #mufc

Solskjaer bringing on Martial to DOUBLE his PL total goals was clever man-management: the latter quality one of OGS's prime abilities...
