Horse racing trainer Jack Davison joined Johnny Ward on this week's Friday Night Racing to speak about his career to date.
The young trainer touched on a number of topics including how his families racing's history influenced, inspired and motivated him to get involved with the sport.
Former Clongowes Wood College College student Davison spoke about his transition from Rugby to horse racing because of his passion for the sport instilled by his family.
He gained huge experience whilst working with trainers Clive Cox, Jim Bolger, Gai Waterhouse, Eoin Harty, Francis Graffard and Eddie Lynam but says his real passion came from his family's involvement in the sport.
"I grew up on a Stud farm, great place to grown up. I watched my dad folding mares and I always kind of got involved. I was definitely, I suppose, infected in the womb, maybe - well, some would say. My mother is quite in to as well, so.' Laughed the trainer.
The Meath main explained to OTB's Friday Night Racing rugby was a passion but he felt he couldn't make a career out of it, so he decide to return to a passion that evolved from his childhood.
"I dabbled with ponies when I was a kid, then went to boarding school. I went to Clongowes and rugby really took over for 6 years of my life,' he added.
He felt as though it was an area he could excel in because of his family history, expierence and the fact he grew up on a stud farm.
"Me being me, I wanted to do really well at something at I kind of knew at that stage The lads were too big for me, and I wasn't going to make a career out of it."
