Limerick player Sean Russell has been left to pay the €4,500 surgery bill after the cheque his club produced bounced. The midfielder has undergone surgery, but needs another operation to fix his injured knee. Not only has his expenses been paid late but the cheque he lodged remains unpaid , he now faces the thousands of euro fee from the hospital. Neither the FAI or Limerick have reached out to him to explain the situation apart from head coach Tommy Barrett and the club physio, who asked how he was. Fans have given their full support to the player following the shocking actions of the League of Ireland club.
