The fighting pride of Mayo, Ray Moylette is taking on the challenge of doing 1,000 push-ups in one-hour this morning (Friday, April 17th) at 10:00am across all OTB's social channels.
All proceeds will go to HSE Front Line Staff and Pieta House - you can help him reach the €10,000 target here.
Mayo's @raymoylette posted on social media after completing 1,000 push ups in one hour - the only problem was that it was on April 1st and some people thought it was joke.
He's vowed to clear his name and do it again - live and for charity! #OTBAM 🥊👏💪https://t.co/3gSU5xyorX pic.twitter.com/SmUacJBOov— Off The Ball (@offtheball) April 9, 2020
We will be going live to this challenge just after tomorrow's OTB AM - and Adrian Barry and Eoin Sheahan will present live coverage of the 1,000 push-ups. We will also be joined by some friends of the show.
The road to this undertaking started on April Fool's Day.
Great to have the support of the big hitters..🤣🤣
Thank you @tierneytalks. Unbelievable work..🤣🤣

Ray first took on the challenge in isolation - when he posted about it on April 1st some followers wondered whether he was pulling their legs.
Not one to have his word questioned, he vowed on OTB AM to take-on the challenge again, this time live on the internet and for charity.
⚡1000 push ups in 1 hour⚡
*This is not April Fools*
😂😂
I never could have imagined how difficult this would be.
17 push ups every minute for 59 minutes.

To put things in perspective, think of doing 17 press-ups in one minute and repeating it 60 times. That's the pace Ray needs to hit.
"I'm going to do it live... I want to show that I'm not a blaggard full time," he told OTB AM.
Hi Guys
Today is my 30th birthday. I wouldn't love anything more than to share a cup of coffee or a pint with you.
Can i please ask you to donate here, the price of a cup of coffee or a pint or whatever you can for the HSE Frontline Staff & Pieata Househttps://t.co/ezBzcuRjZV— Ray Moylette (@raymoylette) April 11, 2020
Since he initially posted about the challenge, many have tried to replicate the feat, with few managing to make it north of 500 reps.
"I think it took people to try it and do it to realise - wow, that was a challenge!"
So, while boxing rings lie empty... the lightweight is preparing for a different kind of mental and physical challenge.
Earlier this month, Ray put together this workout video for our Off The Couch series (if you're feeling inspired - or looking to work up a sweat).
Once more - if you want to help Ray hit his €10,000 target - here's the link.
