'I want to keep going' - Tiger Woods on future as he matches PGA Tour record

Tiger Woods equalled the PGA tour record on Sunday night - winning his 82nd tournament, with victory at the Zozo Championship in Japan.

The 15-time major winner won the tournament, where play was suspended a number of times due to poor weather and lighting, by three shots.

Local Hideki Matsuyama lead the chasing pack; finishing up on 16-under-par.

Rory McIlroy came in third three shots back again on 13-under-par.

With the win, Woods, who's 43-years-old and current world number 10, matched American Sam Snead's record which was set in 1965.

It was his first event since having his fifth knee operation just nine weeks ago and came six months after his stunning Masters win in April.

Following the victory, Woods said it was special to reach the milestone and specifically in the circumstances, it happened in.

"I've been very fortunate to have the career I've had so far.

"To have won this tournament in Japan is ironic because I've always been a global player, I've always played all around the world and to tie the record outside the United States is pretty cool."

Snead was 52 when he won for the final time on the PGA Tour and Tiger, who has also had four back surgeries, was asked afterward about the possibility of him playing for another six years.

"As far as playing until 52, I hope that's the case.

"If you would have asked me a few years ago, I would have given you a different answer, but certainly the future looks brighter than it has.

"The body can't do what it used to but I can still think my way around the golf course.

"I know how to play and I was able to do that this week. There was a time if I didn't know if I would play again so I am very appreciative."
