SKODA is embarking on a recruitment drive to attract trainees to work in their network.
These positions are Service Advisor, Parts Advisor, Sales Exec but they are primarily looking to recruit apprentice technicians.
SKODA is introducing a trainee careers programme which offers an augmented qualification path for apprentice technicians.
This will be offered via a registration process followed by speed interviews. This is the opportunity of a lifetime to a rewarding career and an alternative to academic study. Furthermore, this is an opportunity to be trained to a high level in a very technical area as SKODA prepares for an electric future.
Clondalkin man, David Rave began his career as an apprentice technician and then became an HGV Technician. He is now in a senior role with SKODA, based in the Czech Republic where he is currently responsible for After Sales Product Marketing, Sales Support and Marketing Communication.
David was keen to push that the apprenticeship is a great opportunity for young people who would be interested in a future in the motor industry. As someone who has progressed to a senior position in the industry, after completing a motor apprenticeship himself, he believes that a university degree isn’t the only way to succeed.
With so many routes to take, David felt that there is always room for progression. The opportunities available allow people to discover what route suits their talents best.
David also wanted to clarify to parents of potential apprentices that the university route mightn’t necessarily work for everyone. For someone who’s willing to train, work and study hard, he feels like this apprenticeship should suit them perfectly.
