Mona McSharry has sealed an incredible bronze medal in the 50 metres breaststroke at the European Short-Course Swimming Championships.
McSharry swam a time of 30.51 seconds in her heat earlier and moved through in eighth position overall to the semi-final, from where she qualified in 30.31 seconds.
The 19-year-old Sligo athlete then took bronze in the final in a new Irish senior record time of 29.87 seconds in Glasgow.
Longford's Darragh Greene swam a new personal best time of 26.89 in claiming the fifteenth spot in the men's 50 metres breaststroke.
In his semi-final Greene took .11 seconds off this morning's swim to finish in 26.78, unfortunately not enough to see him through to the final.
However, he does have his better events - the 100 metres and 200 metres breaststroke - to come tomorrow and Friday.
