The NBA are holding "exploratory conversations" with the Walt Disney Company about a possible return to play in Orlando in July.
The basketball season in the US was halted on 11 March due to the coronavirus pandemic but the sport's governing body is looking at playing games at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
The players' union - the National Basketball Players Association - are also involved in the talks and league spokesman Mike Bass explained that player safety is at the forefront of discussions.
"It would be a single site for an NBA campus for games, practices and housing," Bass told Sky Sports.
"Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved, and we are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medical protocols and protections are in place."
Three time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors Steph Curry has said that he is ready to go if they get the green light to resume.
"Absolutely. I think yes," Curry replied when asked.
"I think we've had so many conversations and they're going to continue, to unfold as more information comes out, as everybody understands how to do it safely, as best you can."
Curry was also asked how he would feel about playing against an opponent who had previously tested positive for Covid-19.
"Boy, that would be tough," said Curry.
"If that is a real scenario, if you try to play and there is no vaccine, there's no way to really guarantee nobody's going to get it.
"I think you're at a place where everybody says, 'yeah, we're ready to play,' and then they know what they're committing to.
"And if not, if it doesn't make sense, then you won't see a ball bounce."
