LISTEN: Paulie Malignaggi laughed when we asked if McGregor's punches hurt

Two-time World Champ Paulie Malignaggi was forced to keep his gloves up during his chat with Off The Ball this evening - but he offered plenty of interesting nuggets ahead of 'the Money Fight.'

He joined us as he prepared for his second sparring session with 'the notorious one' and laughed when he was asked if any of the punches landed during their first session did any damage.

The New Yorker was a vocal critic of the bout when it was first discussed:

"He can't box. He's got a little bit of karate, he's got some skills and he adapts in the cage very well I give him credit - but he's not a boxer, he can't box. What's funny is you have enough people who will buy into this bullshit, so it's up to me to really save people's time from being wasted in the Mayweather fight," he told BoxingScene.com in December of last year.

While his tune has changed to a degree and he says that the Irish fighter is sharper than early sparring footage suggested, he describes his style as unorthodox and revealed that he believes that isn't necessarily a good thing or a bad thing.

"I'm torn as to what's going to work and what's not," he told OTB.

He added that he has some theories as to how the contest will unfold but he will have to bite his lip for now, while he works with the MMA star's team.
