Late nights and early mornings to follow Ireland's Olympic hockey quest

Irish hockey fans face some late nights and early mornings as they follow the women's exploits at next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The schedule for Ireland's Pool A campaign has been confirmed, and it includes three overnight games for those watching back home.

Ireland's campaign will open against South Africa on July 25 with a 1.15pm tip-off, Irish time.

From there, Sean Dancer's side will have a day off before returning to action on July 27 against the world's number 1-ranked side, and World Cup-winners, the Netherlands.

The meeting with the Dutch is one of three matches that will take place in the small hours of the morning from an Irish perspective, tipping off at 2am.

From there, Ireland will play Germany on July 29 (4.15am) and India on July 31 (3.45am).

Ireland conclude their Pool A travails against Great Britain on August 1st, with the slightly more manageable lunctime start of 12.45pm.
