UFC brass tonight confirmed a UFC lightweight championship fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.
Dana White confirmed the bout has been set for Oct. 6 in Las Vegas.
The UFC president announced the bout at the climax of the UFC 25 year anniversary press-conference in Los Angeles earlier this evening.
"They are not here, unfortunately. October 6th in Las vegas. It's on,' confirmed White.
The bout will be the Dubliner's first bout in nearly two years since he dethroned lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden, NYC.
McGregor was stripped of the title back in March, due to inactivity in the Octagon.
The 26-0 Dagestani returns for his first defence since winning the vacant title at UFC 223 in Brooklyn, last March.
