1997 Snooker World Champion Ken Doherty says Ronnie O'Sullivan is a cut above the rest of the players competing for the 2019 World championship.
'The Rocket' faces James Cahill in the opening round of the Championships on Monday in Sheffield's Crucible Arena.
The World number 1 is favourite to win the tournament ahead of today's opening matches and Doherty believes the 43-year-old justifies that tag.
Speaking on OTB, the Ranelagh man predicts O'Sullivan to take the spoils but believes it may hinder on 5-time World Champion's mindset.
"It depends on Ronnie O'Sullivan, a lot; what Ronnie O'Sullivan turns up,' said Doherty.
The Dubliner expressed his concern for O'Sullivan patience and thinks that may be a key factor over the 17-day tournament.
"The problem now for Ronnie O'Sullivan is the patience; has he still the patience for the World Championship for 17 days?
He says O'Sullivan's natural ability is what sets him apart from the rest of the field.
"He's still the main man without a shadow of a doubt,' praised Doherty.
Though Doherty believes O'Sullivan will eventually be crowned champion in just under three weeks time but sees Judd Trump as another real contender at the Crucible.
The 1998/2003 runner-up things it will take a big effort for the Englishman to replicate another season victory over him.
"He's going to be very, very hard to beat. Someone is going to have two play out of their skin to beat him."
