Making a return to winning ways in the early hours of Friday morning, Donegal's Jason Quigley confirmed on Friday's OTB AM that he intends to be back in the ring again early next year.
Within three rounds of his comeback bout in California, Jason Quigley had proved that he was far too much for his Mexican opponent, Abraham Cordero.
A fight that the Donegal native was always expected to win, Quigley delivered on the pre-fight expectations laid down by his new trainer Andy Lee on Wednesday's OTB AM: "I've certainly said that to him, that it is important he looks good in this fight and that he puts on a dominating performance."
Joining the show live from America's west coast on Friday morning's show, Quigley could reflect on a job well done.
"It was a good fight for me to get back coming off my last fight," he explained in light of his first professional defeat to Tureano Johnson back in July. "It was a good fight for me to work on some of the things I've been working on with Andy.
"I had to be patient enough with him for the first round or two obviously because he was a tricky enough kind of fighter and he didn't really want to commit too much.
"Once I [got the feel for him though], I caught him in the second round and thought I'd hurt him but his eyes were still kind of looking good.
"Then in the third round, I caught him with a right hook I think and I just saw his eyes go spacey and I knew I had to put on the pressure.
"I might have got a bit too excited and wild at times trying to go for the stoppage and land the big one, but there was a lot of frustration there from my last fight.
"I wanted to get in there and stop this guy in good fashion."
Working alongside Andy Lee for the first time, it now appears as if the pair are intent on taking the partnership forward.
With a 17-1 record to his name, Quigley is determined to build momentum.
"I came off my first defeat and I'm back now to winning ways," he stated, "and as Andy has been saying on the show, you're only ever two or three fights away from a world title fight or a massive fight to get yourself into a world title fight.
"I had a great chat with Robert Diaz of Golden Boy Promotions and my management team after the fight and they want me to have another one or two fights and I'm looking to get back out early in the new year, maybe February.
"I'll be going out to LA in January for a month's training camp with Andy and Paddy Donovan as well.
"We'll push on with those two or three fights, and push on then for a world title.
