Kildare native Dennis Hogan will fight for the WBO Light-Middleweight title after beating Manchester's Jimmy Kelly via a unanimous decision in Brisbane, Australia this afternoon.
Hogan (27-1-1) took the fighting thanks to the judges scorecards, which read 119-109, 117-111, and 117-113 after 12 rounds.
'Hurricane' will now be guaranteed a shot at the WBO title as he comes the mandatory challenger, and is set to face the winner of champion Sadam Ali's bout with challenger Liam Smith on May 12th.
Originally from Kilcullen, the 33-year-old is currently based in Australia and hopes to bring the title bout down under, with his adopted city of Brisbane being the preferred destination for the incumbent challenger.
Dennis actually joined OTB:AM over Skype during the week to speak with Andy Lee about this weekend's fight, so if you'd like to catch the chat or any off our other podcast content, check out our podcast page over here.
