Andy Lee: "I'm good enough to win a world title"

Former WBO Middleweight champion Andy Lee says he is not hanging up his gloves just yet.

The 33-year-old's last appearance in the ring came in March when he defeated KeAndrae Leatherwood.

The Irish fighter lost the belt to Billy Joe Sanders in 2015, he is currently ranked 6th in line for Gennady Golovkin's WBC crown.

Lee this week joined team Off The Ball.com, where he will serve as resident boxing expert and share his knowledge of elite level sport with fans on air and online.

The Limerick native has told OTB AM that doesn't mean his boxing career is over:

"I still want to fight again, every fighter will want to fight again or believe they have another fight in them.

"Even though I have that desire I have kind of pushed it to one side, the way it is now I'm leaving it to fate, in the hands of the gods.

"The promoters I work with know I want to fight and know I'm available to fight, I've given them a list of people I want to fight and a minimum purse they have to have to get in the ring again.

"If they can match that and meet those things then I will fight again. I'm just going to leave it to them.

"If it doesn't happen I won't be bitter I wont have any regrets about not fighting again. I'm still young enough to fight.

"I'm still fit enough and I still believe I'm good enough to win a world title if the right fight comes along so I'm going to give it 4-6 months.

"If it doesn't come I'll make a call and until then I'll keep my options open and stay in relatively decent shape and be ready if it comes.
