“When I get on the plane with a smile I’ll think about that" | ROG on Crusaders time

Ronan O'Gara was on OTBAM discussing his busy schedule ahead of his move to France next week.

While there was a conversation of La Rochelle on the show, O'Gara said that he’s currently looking at moving to Île de Ré saying “All roads point there, I think it’s a good place to live.”

The former Munster and Ireland player admitted that family has become a huge part of his decision in where to move since his time as a player has finished. He now feels that the decision has to appeal to the rest of the family too.

“Playing days, obviously are over and the sacrifices Jessica has made, with the kids and the schooling, there has to be a sell for them to be excited to go to a place so Île de Ré is a beautiful place.”

O'Gara is also looking forward to the new challenge and is deciding what culture he would like to bring to the club.

“It can be as exciting as you make and want it to be so that’s the challenge, you go there next week full of excitement. You go there full of excitement really it’s a great challenge and it’s something you want to have a go at so that’s exactly where my mind’s at, at the moment.”

With a game this weekend and training commencing at La Rochelle next week, O’Gara feels that it will be a rush to move over to France.

“I’ve got to get home as quickly as possible because La Rochelle start training next week and I’ll hit the ground the following week”

Despite a successful stint at the Crusaders, O'Gara hasn’t had time to look back on his success and achievements at the club.

“Hopefully, when I get on the plane with a smile I’ll think about that but as you know, that kind of looks after its self when you do the business.”

“It’s so ruthless at this level you kind of keep your foot on the accelerator and then when you come up for air you’ll be able to process your thoughts a bit better.”
