Liam Brady was given a hero's reception upon his return to Sampdoria at the weekend.
The 65-year old spent two seasons at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium following his departure from Juventus in 1982.
Brady was presented to the crowd, along with a Samp jersey, ahead of their thrilling 3-3 Serie A draw with Udinese.
The Dubliner made 71 appearances for Samp, scoring six times as the club secured back-to-back 7th place finishes in Serie A.

“At first it wasn’t easy to accept my departure from Juventus," he said in a 2017 interview.
"But when I met president Paolo Mantovani I could see his ambition straight away.
"We got off to a great start, beating Juve on the first day of the season, and we had plenty of other good times too.
"I have wonderful memories and the fans still have a lot of affection for me – that’s why it’s always a pleasure to come back here."
After he left Sampdoria in 1984, Brady would have three more seasons in Italian football - playing for Inter, and Ascoli before returning to London with West Ham.
