WATCH: QPR players take knee and raise fist celebrating at Millwall

QPR players made a defiant gesture at The Den on Tuesday night.

Millwall's fans were roundly condemned on Saturday for booing players taking the knee prior to their game with Derby County.

The match had been the first with fans present inside the stadium since the pandemic forced all games behind closed doors in March.

Queens Park Rangers made the trip from West London on Tuesday night, with both sets of players took the knee ahead of the match. Boos were replaced this time by cheers.

Ilias Chair gave QPR a 53rd minute lead, and celebrated by again taking a knee and raising a fist.

Rangers had previously dispensed with taking the knee, with director of football Les Ferdinand saying in September that the gesture had become "diluted".

However, Saturday's ugly scenes - subject to an FA investigation - have focused minds once again on the issue at hand.

The game finished level at 1-1, with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson scoring the equaliser for Millwall.

Elsewhere, leaders Bournemouth were held to a goalless draw by fellow promotion hopefuls Swansea City.

Stoke City fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City.

Huddersfield moved up to 12th in the table with a 2-0 victory at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

Coventry and Luton drew a blank.

While Troy Deeney was on the scoresheet for Watford in a 2-0 win over Rotherham at Vicarage Road.
