Slaven Bilic sacked by West Brom

West Brom have sacked manager Slaven Bilic less than 24 hours after the club's 1-1 draw away to Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Baggies have just one win from 13 games in the league on their return to the top-flight.

Bilic had six months left to run on a two-year deal he signed in June 2019 but West Brom have just seven points on the board so far.

A statement from the club read: "West Brom have today parted company with Head Coach Slaven Bilić.

"Assistant Coaches, Dean Računica and Danilo Butorović, and First Team Coach Julian Dicks have also left the club with immediate effect.

"The Baggies are currently 19th in the Premier League table with seven points from 13 fixtures.

"Albion would like to thank Slaven and his coaching staff for their efforts in achieving promotion last season and wishes them all well in the future.

"The club will make no further comment at this time."

Sam Allardyce is the favourite to take over at the Hawthorns and the first thing a new manager has to do is to sort out the defence.

West Brom have the worst defensive record in the top-flight having conceded 26 goals.

The Baggies play Aston Villa this Sunday and then have a trip to champions Liverpool on December 27th.
